Original Skin?? Effective or Nah?

Origins Original Skin Renewal  Set

If you follow me on Instagram (ChrissyXtina_Beauty) and Twitter (ChrissyXtina_B) you know that I have been trying out some skincare products from Origins*. This was my first time trying anything from the Origins brand. I’ve been aware of the brand, but have never been enticed to purchase one of their products. When I was sent these products, I was really interested to see how well they performed.

What Products Did I Try?

ORIGINAL SKIN ™ MATTEMOISTURIZER: It promises to provide satisfying hydration while mattifying skin thanks to the #PinkWaterCream. It is also oil free.

ORIGINAL SKIN ™RENEWAL SERUM: This is a super serum promises to renew your complexion by helping the skin to look fresher, brighter and smoother while minimizing the appearance of imperfections.

ORIGINAL SKIN ™ RETEXTURIZINGMASK:  This mask is formulated with Mediterranean rose clay, Canadian willow herb, and exfoliating jojoba beads that all help gently deep clean while refining your skin’s texture. It will help pores look smaller and give a youthful complexion that is smooth to touch.

What Are My Thoughts?

ORIGINAL SKIN ™ MATTEMOISTURIZER: This product did exactly what it promised to do. It provided moisture without causing my skin to look oily and it also does not leave a residue of any kind. It literally melts in the skin and its smells like fresh flowers. When you first apply it to your face you may feel a slight tingling, but that dissipates after about 20 seconds. After a minute or so my skin was actually really really matte.  My only regret is that I didn’t receive this product earlier in the summer, it would have been a life saver on those really hot days. My only caution is to those who have dry skin, this may feel too drying for you. I used this for daytime and night time.

ORIGINAL SKIN ™RENEWAL SERUM: I don’t feel the serum was the stand out product here. I could really take or leave it. It did absorb well into the skin was light in texture. I can’t say if it delivered on its promise to make my skin appear brighter.

ORIGINAL SKIN ™ RETEXTURIZINGMASK:  I really appreciated the multitasking element of this mask. It was a mix of a physical exfoliant and a clay mask. I felt as if having those jojoba beads to exfoliate your skin while applying the mask really helped with allowing the benefits of the mask to really penetrate the skin. The product was very easy to work with and spread, unlike many other clay masks. It felt a hybrid of a cream and clay mask, it smelled wonderful and left me with a nice refreshed look.

Final Thoughts

Out of the three products, if I had to repurchase, I would purchase the ORIGINAL SKIN ™ MATTEMOISTURIZER and the ORIGINAL SKIN ™ RETEXTURIZINGMASK. These two products actually delivered the promised results. This introduction to the Origins Skincare line was quite enjoyable and I got better looking skin out of it!

*I received these products free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion from Influenster.
